Welcome to The Kay Center Disability Policy Forum 2008

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the online review of the Kay Center Disability Policy Forum. This website contains a video archive of the 2008 forum in Washington, D.C. and a briefing on our study conducted in Fall 2007 entitled:

Disability Determination Process:
An Exploratory Study on the Impact of Incomplete Medical Evidence

This study emerged from our disability policy forum that was held in April 2007. A major conclusion from this expert convening was the need to more closely investigate how electronic and personal health records could assist those with disabilities in managing their own health, including the benefit determination process.

The information shared on this website represents our next steps to better understand the current disability determination process and consider possible innovations utilizing electronic personal and related health systems. We look forward to your perspective on this issue and your insights into how our activities can make a positive impact on disability systems and the citizens and consumers they serve.

In the Program section, you can view a briefing of our results with commentary offered by industry leaders. The About section provides a summary of the study findings.

We are grateful for the time granted us by the 19 interviewees and for the financial support provided by the Kay Family Foundation.

Most of all, thank you for visiting us!
